Product Warranty

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

The voluntary warranties below provide additional benefits. They do not exclude, restrict or modify any right or remedy available under the Australian Consumer Law or another law that cannot be excluded.

This warranty is administered by Galleria Italia Pty Ltd ABN 53 687 436 960 trading as Teak & Rope, 170–172 Adderley Street West, Auburn NSW 2144, Hello@teakandrope.com.au, +61 2 5566 0008.

It applies to the original purchaser of an eligible product bought from Teak & Rope and used in Australia for the approved purpose. A product-specific written schedule may identify the manufacturer as the party giving all or part of the warranty. Keep the invoice, product label or batch information and documents supplied with the order.

“Residential use” means ordinary use at a private dwelling without commercial, public, communal, rental-business or high-traffic use. “Commercial use” includes use at a workplace, retail, hospitality, education, health, public, strata-common, multi-residential-common, short-stay, display, marine, industrial or other non-private setting. If the use changes, the shorter applicable period applies from the original invoice date.

Where no separate voluntary period is stated for an “Other products” purchase, no additional time-limited written warranty is created by this page. Australian Consumer Law rights continue to apply.

The warranty period begins on the invoice date. Product-specific schedules may contain additional coverage, performance tolerances or exclusions and should be read with this policy.

For an eligible product during the applicable period, the warranty covers a material manufacturing defect that makes the product fail under normal approved use, subject to the product schedule and exclusions below.

Coverage does not turn an appearance preference, expected weathering, reasonable manufacturing tolerance or natural variation into a defect. Colour, texture, grain, veining, gloss and dimensions can vary between samples, screens, batches and replacement material.

No stain, fade, acoustic, fire, slip, thermal, structural, water, termite, mould or other performance promise applies unless it is expressly stated for the exact product in the written schedule supplied with the order.

To the extent permitted by law, the voluntary warranty does not cover loss caused or contributed to by:

• unsuitable product selection or an undisclosed application;
• incorrect measurement, design, engineering, specification or approval;
• inadequate or moving substrates, framing, supports, foundations or openings;
• incorrect storage, handling, acclimatisation, cutting, drilling or installation;
• departure from the current product guide, fixing schedule or approved written direction;
• inadequate drainage, falls, ventilation, waterproofing, flashings or moisture control;
• incompatible fixings, clips, adhesives, sealants, cleaners, coatings or adjacent materials;
• excessive heat, reflected sunlight, chemicals, abrasion, impact, overloading, misuse, accident, pests, contamination, flooding, fire, storm or other external cause;
• unauthorised repair, modification, relocation or reuse;
• third-party workmanship or failure of another building element; or
• failure to carry out reasonable cleaning, inspection and maintenance.

These exclusions operate only to the extent the stated matter caused or contributed to the loss. They do not exclude responsibility for a defect in goods supplied by us or any non-excludable right.

Teak & Rope supplies materials only. The customer must appoint appropriately qualified and licensed project professionals and installers. They must verify product suitability, site conditions, structure, substrate, design, approvals, evidence of suitability and installation against the NCC, applicable law, relevant standards and current product documents.

The customer and installer must inspect before installation and stop work if any issue is visible or any instruction, approval or site condition is uncertain. Installation records should include delivery and batch labels, dated photographs of the substrate and supporting structure, set-out, spacing, drainage, ventilation, fixings, adhesives and completed work.

Stop using or working on an affected area if continued use could be unsafe or increase damage. Take reasonable steps to protect people, property and the remaining product.

Email Hello@teakandrope.com.au with the purchaser’s name, invoice, project address, product and batch, residential or commercial use, delivery and installation dates, installer details, description of the issue, dated photographs and relevant installation and maintenance records.

Claims should be made within a reasonable time after discovery. A delay may affect our ability to identify cause or prevent additional loss, but no notification wording removes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

We may reasonably request further information, samples and access for inspection. Do not remove or dispose of affected material unless required for safety or authorised in writing; if urgent removal is necessary, document the condition and preserve representative samples where safe.

We will assess whether there is a covered manufacturing defect, another product issue, an installation or project issue, or a combination of causes. We may use the manufacturer or an independent suitably qualified person.

If a voluntary-warranty claim is accepted, we may repair the product, replace affected material with the same or a reasonably equivalent product, or refund the affected product’s purchase price, as appropriate under the written warranty and subject to law. Replacement colour, texture or profile may vary where the original batch or product is unavailable.

Labour, removal, reinstallation, access, scaffolding, freight, finishing and consequential costs are covered only where the written product schedule says so or where required by law. Nothing in this paragraph limits compensation or another remedy available under the Australian Consumer Law.
